quote [ The 747-8 Intercontinental is 16 per cent more fuel efficient than the 747-400 and 11 percent more fuel efficient than the A380, the super jumbo plane made by European rival Airbus, the company says. ]
Sorry, but I've been a plane nerd since my best mate from primary school started flying jumbos. She's super excited about this thing, and now it's finally in the air.

You are wrong and I could tell you why, but it would be a waste of my time. That XKCD about 'someone being wrong on the internet'? Yup. So it is better for you to go to airliners.net and join other trolls in praising the 747 and blasting the 'whalejet', without having any concept of CASM or RASM. Oh, and downmodding an ignorant person does not make me a little bitch, but whining about it (instead of fixing your ignorance) does make you one. Carry on Mr. Troll Captain! |

Mate, what the fuck is up your arse? I quoted the facts that I've got available to me. As far as I can find out, they're accurate. You telling me I'm wrong without making any kind of contribution to show anyone why is just being a dick. I also remarked that I think the 747 is better looking. So what? Aren't I allowed have an opinion? I've got better things to do than fart around on airliner forums. I'm a scientist, not a pilot, but I like planes. I like all planes. I like the A380, I just think it looks like a blimp, and if someone can make something better, good on 'em. I just thought it was notable that this thing had a first test flight and thought people might be interested. Obviously it isn't up to your very high standards of contribution to this community, which would consist of... oh wait, let me see... sweet fuck all and a lot of downmods. Stop abusing the mod system. ....Yeah I know, internet SERIOUS BUSINESS. |

So it's what? - a larger capacity version of the same aircraft that's been in service for the past 40 years? Doesn't seem all that new to me. Today BTW, Feb. 9, is the anniversary of the maiden flight of the 747 in 1969. |
